Spilled backpack exposes content.

In my family, we have a tradition. On our fourteenth birthday, we girls get our first purse. They tend to be tiny Vera Bradley bags, just big enough to hold our brand new wallets and maybe a chapstick.

gap-semester-pastry-school

Today I’m talking about gap semesters and my decision to start pastry school. Now that I think about it, this post may seem strange since my previous one was about getting ready for college as a high school senior; and I am neither getting ready for college or a senior.

Wait? You’re not getting ready for college?! …

October 1, 2018 Be first to comment

october-for-college-bound-seniors

Guess what, it’s October 1st, you guys! The time has come for warm sweaters, crisp air, and the (unofficial) start of the holiday season. At this time last year, I remember watching the first leaves fall to the ground, oh, and filling out the FAFSA. I was a few months into my senior year of high school and …

July 5, 2018 Be first to comment

For the first time in a long time my Fourth of July was quiet. No fireworks, no barbecue, but a least I represented with a red-white-blue ensemble. On my instagram I asked whether or not you can call it the 4th if everything isn’t red, white, and blue. I think we can all agree spreading …

How To Travel Without Hopping On A Plane

June 16, 2018 Be first to comment

What?! Two posts in a week from Amaris, is this the twilight zone? Nope, I’m just motivated. I might as well make use of all this free time. Today is the perfect summer day: blue sky, hot temperature, lazy vibes; which I’m enjoying from inside my air conditioned home😂.

With such beautiful weather comes summer activities such as visits to …

When I was younger, I would read books all the tim When I was younger, I would read books all the time. Every book I could get my hands on. My mother encouraged the reading and our house has a mini library full of books that I love. After I got my cellphone, I found myself reading physical books less often. I did have a wattpad phase, but I eventually stopped reading books for fun. Last year I revisited a childhood hobby when I started a vegetable garden again and this year I want to start reading books. Physical books. Fiction, non-fiction, self help, humor, etc. This will take some actual work, but when I cracked open @stephanieyeboah’s Fattily Ever After and started reading the first chapter, I found myself back in my beloved “reading bubble”. Here’s to getting lost in a good book again!

It’s still going to be good, just don’t expect anything on a regular schedule. Isn’t this a nice picture guys?
