Holiday Gift Ideas for the Homebody College Girl

🎶On the third day of Christmas, Amaris gave to you…🎶 over a dozen holiday gift ideas for the homebody college girl! In case you missed it, I launched The Ultimate College Girl Holiday Gift Guide on December 1st. The entire page is filled with gift ideas for your favorite college student. Before I purchase gifts for Christmas, I like to read about each product. Decisions should not be made solely on how pretty the picture looks. For this reason, each gift idea below is listed with the product image and a brief description of its use. Additionally, scroll to the bottom of this post for homebody gift ideas from small businesses!

This post contains affiliate links, which means if you purchase something through these links I will make a small commission at no additional cost to you. For more information check out my disclosure. Thank you for supporting Amaris Elizabeth!

Best Gifts for the College Homebody

1. Teddy Bear Robe @ Pottery Barn

Teddy Bear Robe

Nothing says homebody more than lounging around in a fluffy robe. This robe from Pottery Barn comes in different, soothing colors and there is the option for customization.

2. 2-Pack Chenille Socks @ H&M

2 pack chenille socks

Chenille socks are as cozy as they look. In my opinion, the material feels fluffy and silky at the same time. They can be worn alone, but they are just thin enough to pair well with slippers.

3. UGG Women’s Scuffette @ UGG

UGG Women's Scuffette

Slippers are a homebody’s must-have. UGGs may have gotten a bad rap somewhere along the line, but they reign supreme as the warmest, most comfortable winter shoes out there.

4. Getaway Eye Mask @ Ban.Do

Getaway eye mask

Every student dreams of the perfect nap, free from interruptions. Make that dream a reality with an eye mask that blocks out the sun. In dorms without dark-out curtains, eye masks are life-savers.

5. 15 lbs Weighted Blanket @ Walmart.com

15 pound weighted blanket

A 15-pound weighted blanket, plus an eye mask. Need I say more? Give the gift of better sleep this holiday season.

6. Sherpa Bed Blanket @ Target

Okay, I said I wasn’t saying anymore, but a fluffy blanket?! Nothing beats lazy mornings wrapped in a warm blanket with a hot drink in your hand. Naps aren’t bad either.

7. Summer Lovin’ Dorm Collage Kit @ Etsy

Summer Lovin' Dorm Collage Kit

Wall collages are my favorite, large home décor items. As a student, large posters or hanging wall art is a no-go. Nails, holes, torn wallpaper, eek. Collages cover the same amount of area with less damage. Check out my Instagram for pictures of my wall collages.

8. Serene House Pink Travel Diffuser @ Crate & Barrel

Serene House Pink Travel Diffuser

Unless your student lives outside of on-campus student accommodations, candles and other flammable materials are prohibited. Diffusers create the same calming atmosphere.

9. InstaBox i30 Portable Clock with Bluetooth Speaker @ The Home Depot

InstaBox i30 Portable Clock with Bluetooth Speaker

With the InstaBox i30, your favorite student can keep track of time and enjoy her favorite tunes. Instead of listening to music through headphones or ear pods, connect a phone through Bluetooth.

10. The Little Book of Hygge @ HarperCollins

The Little Book of Hygge

Gen-Z students are up to trying pretty much every trend. Hygge is a trendy Danish method for wellness. The Little Book of Hygge will essentially teach your homebody how to live even more comfortably.

11. The 5 Ingredient College Cookbook @ Zulily

The 5 Ingredient College Cookbook

No dorm room is complete without a cookbook for the college student. With five ingredients, students can prepare easy meals for themselves. The recipes are so simple, novice cooks will be fine.

12. Home Decor Gift Cards @ HomeGoods/ Bed Bath & Beyond/ Target

Sometimes it is hard to choose the right gift. With a gift card from HomeGoods, Bed Bath & Beyond, or Target, your homebody college girl will be able to pick her own gift.

Small Business Homebody Gift Ideas

1. Macramé Fringe Keychain @ Lynn + Lyle

Neutral Macrame Fringe Keychain / Small / Mini Macrame image 0

Keep them organized and cute. My worst fear is losing my school ID while walking and losing access to all the buildings. This macramé keychain makes it hard to misplace your ID or keys. It can also clip onto purses.

2. Key Tags @ Towne9

Life Is A Highway Key Tag Transparent Pink Keychain image 0

Nothing screams home-sweet-home, or in this case dorm-sweet-dorm, like the jingling of keys. Towne9 on Etsy features several key tag designs with cute sayings. Combined with a macrame keychain from above and she will love coming home even more.

3. Shower Chic Gift Pack @ LABeautyologist

Shower Chic Gift Pack

This set is on my wish list, and probably wins the prize for the most practical and adorable towel set I have ever seen. In case you do not know, this set is sold by LA Beautyologist, one of the top Black estheticians on Twitter. So not only are you supporting a business that actually cares about your skin, but also supporting a black woman! Yay!

There you have it, over a dozen gift ideas for the homebody college girl. Check back tomorrow for more gift ideas. Do you know of a student that would like this gift guide? Share it with them!

First Day of the Spring Semester ✨ I bought a First Day of the Spring Semester ✨ I bought a snake plant to be my study buddy this semester. Given my obsession with house plants, I give myself a month before my dorm turns into a jungle. Also, it’s kinda crazy that I’m officially halfway through college?!
When I was younger, I would read books all the tim When I was younger, I would read books all the time. Every book I could get my hands on. My mother encouraged the reading and our house has a mini library full of books that I love. After I got my cellphone, I found myself reading physical books less often. I did have a wattpad phase, but I eventually stopped reading books for fun. Last year I revisited a childhood hobby when I started a vegetable garden again and this year I want to start reading books. Physical books. Fiction, non-fiction, self help, humor, etc. This will take some actual work, but when I cracked open @stephanieyeboah’s Fattily Ever After and started reading the first chapter, I found myself back in my beloved “reading bubble”. Here’s to getting lost in a good book again!
Every once in a while I have time to take pretty p Every once in a while I have time to take pretty pictures, but it never aligns with when I have a blog post written. I’ve come to the conclusion that I’m not cut out for the blogger/influencer life and will now be posting whenever I feel like it on my blog and all my social media 🤷🏾‍♀️. It’s still going to be good, just don’t expect anything on a regular schedule. Isn’t this a nice picture guys?

I have come to realize that I am a bitter optimist I have come to realize that I am a bitter optimist and still believe in a perfect world with happy endings. Instead of learning how to cope with the difficult parts of life, I avoid them like the plague.
⁣
My optimism also lets me dream the biggest dreams. Most of the time my determination turns those dreams into reality. Sometimes, life throws me a curveball and I have to adjust.
⁣
When it comes to academics, my dreams have pretty much turned in to reality. I love my major, excel academically, and enjoy student life. By the end of next week I will have two years of college behind me and only two more to go.
⁣
Before I started college, my Nana told me she would dance and shout on my graduation day. She would wear her traditional dress and make as much noise as she wanted for her baby. But this Tuesday, my grandmother passed away from Covid-19 and my perfect world is broken.
⁣
My Nana thought I was the smartest, kindest, and most beautiful person ever, which I inherited directly from her. Our birthdays are only three days apart (proud cancer women) and we share the same middle name. She loves flowers and gardening. I do too.
⁣
Right now I’m trying to figure out how to do this whole thing. My finals coincidentally all fall within the next two weeks so 2020 really wanted to stick it to me. It doesn’t feel right for me to do anything online without acknowledging this because I sure as heck am not having a merry Christmas.
⁣
For now I am working hard to become the woman my grandmother saw in me and if that means pushing through these next few weeks, so be it.

It’s crazy how one word gives me flashbacks to that video, but “ohmygah, let’s get some shoes” is my motto. Some people buy new clothes to feel good. I buy the same kind of shoe in slightly different designs😅 You can’t show me a block heel I don’t like. Can anyone relate 🙋🏾‍♀️? #shoes
