Yikes! So, that did not go as planned. I was supposed to write a blog post at the end of October to review how my goals went. As you can tell, I failed miserably. To my defense, there were a few extenuating circumstances that needed my attention more, like the craziness that was the U.S. Elections. Whew, that was intense! I woke up early and stayed up late for days to track the results. At the end of everything, I felt like a zombie and that has pretty much been my mode of operations the whole month. Even now, I am avoiding a project assignment by writing this post. No regrets though.
Since an unreasonable amount of time has passed since my October post, this post will be a combination of a goal recap, plus things that I did in November that I want to share. My blogging mojo is slowly starting to come back, which is mostly me looking for an escape from school. Don’t get me wrong, I have enjoyed parts of this semester, but if even one of my courses ends up being online next semester, I am taking a leave of absence and flying to Liberia. Who gon check me?

Before this turns into a fatigue-induced rant post, let me recap my October goals. For reference, you can click here to read the post. Let’s review. Shall we?
October Goals Review
Practice Chinese every day for at least 5 minutes each day
Failed. Lol. I won’t go too much into detail here, but I failed this goal within 24 hours. However, I did listen to Jolin Tsai’s 怪 美 的 on repeat for hours. That song is a certified bop.
Follow a Chloe Ting workout video 3x a week
Sorta Failed. I was able to follow the workout videos for one or two weeks. Then, I got the news that my University was switching to a hybrid system and I moved back into the dorms. Previously, I attended classes completely online from my parents’ house. The gym on campus works well, but I did not feel comfortable having an audience watch me struggle to do a curtsy squat while staring at my laptop. Instead, I managed to work out every weekday in October and semi-consistently this month.
Start downsizing my Spring and Summer closet
Passed! Yay, I actually met one of my goals! This one was easy for me. I actually started working out consistently in April, so most of my wardrobe no longer fits. A few months ago I purchased Anuschka Rees’ The Curated Closet and my long-term goal has been to find my own style. That means my wardrobe will get a lot smaller.
Things I did in November That I Want to Share
First up, I voted in my first presidential election! Unless you have been living under a rock, you know how insane the U.S. elections were. My phone still has screenshots that I sent to my mom at ungodly hours. Why was I up so early?!
I went brunchin’ more than once. Brunch = self care. Three of my courses are entirely online and the other two start after 1 pm, so that leaves me extra time to enjoy my Eggs Benedict. Hollandaise sauce is definitely served in heaven.
This happened back in October, but I did a ton of online shopping, mostly skincare. My favorite brands right now are:
Before Seoul shut down again, I made a trip to the Olive Young in Namdaemun and scored some Cosrx products. Despite the misleading picture, I do not use all these products at the same time. With the weather changing, I try to focus on moisturizing and protecting my skin.
Ya girl also got a new phone. Goodbye iPhone 7, hello iPhone 11 with a camera better than my eyesight. Of course, I spent hours creating the perfect iOS 14 layout. My little sister, who turned 15(!) on Monday now has my old phone. Modern hand-me-downs are so much cooler than before.
That’s all the things I can remember
When I took a break from blogging at the beginning of this year I did not realize how much I would miss my little community. With every app and their momma changing algorithms, I find myself starting from scratch. I am active mostly on Pinterest because I like pretty pictures, but I find myself scrolling through my Twitter feed at least once an hour. Slowly, but surely I am also making a comeback to Instagram (yes, I hate the new layout too).
If you also like pretty pictures, make sure to follow my Pinterest account. Although I tweet sporadically, I am always on the app so feel free to shoot me a DM or @ me. To be completely honest, I never got the hang of Instagram, but I am trying to be an influencer and that can’t happen if I only have 159 followers, grrr. No pressure, but my Insta captions can be as funny as my blog posts sometimes.
If you made it to the end of this post you deserve a gold star. Comments make my day, so if you want to share how you spent the past two months, drop one in the comment section. To my fellow Americans, have a safe and happy Thanksgiving! See you on the flip-side.
